Taft Union wins 25-14, 25-17 and 25-17

Taft Union High School's volleyball team headed to Bakersfield on Tuesday to take on the North High Stars. The team got the win in three sets with scores of 25-14, 25-17 and 25-17 to blank the Stars.

Morgan Pulido led the team in kills with six. Bree Johansen, Cherise Strong and Rylee Mizener all had four. Reagan Hamilton had three, Maddie Jordan and Breanna Bracken each had two and Macaulay Laulu and Kaila Hoffman ended the game with one.

Chaydin Garcia led the team in service aces with four. Pulido and Johansen followed that up with three each, Reagan Montgomery had two and Mariah Nevarez had one.

The Lady Cats had three blocks in the game, two by Strong and one by Mizener.

Nevarez led the team in digs with 19. Garcia had nine digs, Pulido and Johansen had eight and Mizener had four. Maggie Rodriguez and Jordan had three a piece. Strong and Bracken had two and Montgomery ended with one.

The assists were spread around this game with Garcia leading the way with the 11. Bracken had nine and Mizener and Nevarez each finished the game with two.

Next up for the girls will be Frazier Mountain and the next week they will have their first home game.
