On Tuesday, the Cougars got goals early and late to defeat No. 9 Oxnard 2-0.
Freshman midfielder Leopoldo scored his third goal of the early season to break the ice in the 18th minute on an assist from freshman forward Hugo Magana.
Midfielder Clayton Torr ignited the scoring play with a pass into the back of the 18-yard box where Magana crossed the ball back into the middle of the field where Leopoldo put it into the back of the net.
Oxnard battled well into the second half before goalkeeper Brandon Garcia, who has four shutouts, shot a kick out to Magana who pushed the ball ahead to freshman midfielder Alex Cabrera who won a one-on-one contest with the Condor keeper to clinch a big win.
