The video of a parachute instructor/porn actor and an employee of Skydive Taft having sex 10,000 feet above Taft Airport has become a national story and attracted the attention of the Federal Aviation Administration.
First aired – heavily edited and blurred by KGET -- the video in both explicit and edited clips has gone viral.
The explicit version was taken down, but has since reappeared on the internet, both in edited form on numerous national news websites and in its more explicit form elsewhere.
From the Taft Police Department's perspective no laws were broken, Lt. Ed Whiting said, because no one complained about seeing the couple, and they were both consenting adults.
But Alex Voodoo Torres no longer works for Skydive Taft after the stunt, which was recorded by a cameraman both inside and out of the plane.
The FAA is investigating to see if the pilot, whose identity was not available, violated any safety regulations by flying the plane with the couple performing sex right next to him.
Torres and Hope Howell, 20, a receptionist for the sport parachuting business, are seen getting on the plane, performing sex on the plane while sitting right next to the pilot then jumping from the plane, strapped together in a tandem jump in the six minute video.
Whiting said Taft Police were notified of the video on Monday after parents found the children watching it on smart phones.
Apparently one teen downloaded the video and shared it with his friends, Whiting said.
“There's a lot of parents pretty upset,” Whiting said.
The video was apparently posted on Torres' website.
Whiting said police viewed the video and interviewed Skydive Taft owner Dave Chrouch. He said he was unaware of the stunt and became upset when Skydive Taft's name and a photo used in the firm's advertising appeared on the video.
There are no criminal charges planned.
“I can't say that at 10,000 feet you're in public view unless someone saw it and wants to complain,” Whiting said.
