Victim says he was attacked by "jealous husband."

One man was rushed to a Bakersfield hospital with life-threatening injuries after a Christmas Day stabbing in Ford City.

Less than an hour after the man was stabbed, a suspect was arrested in the fields about a half-mile to the east just north of East Cedar Street.

The victim’s name was not immediately available.

Deputies were called to the stabbing scene at an apartment at 340 Jefferson Street and found a man laying outside the apartment building with stab wounds to his leg, arm and abdomen.

He was treated at the scene and then rushed to Taft Airport where he was flown to Kern Medical Center with injuries that Kern County Sheriff’s deputies described as life threatening.

Through interviews with witnesses, deputies learned that the suspect fled east from the apartments.

Deputies and Taft Police started searching the fields on the east side of Highway 119 and north of  East Cedar Taft Police officer Adrienne Villareal found and arrested the suspect, identified as Constantino Cruz.
