A Celebration of Life for Raymond Miller will be held at the Petroleum Club in Taft on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Raymond was born April 24, 1933 near Paris, AR and he passed away February 16, 2010 in Bakersfield, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Clara Miller; three infant brothers; brothers, Elbert and Lindel Miller and great grandson, Gabriel Almengor. Raymond is survived by his wife of 56 years, Valerie Miller; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Barbara Miller; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Suniga; son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Kay Miller; sister, Eula Morton; sister and brother-in-law, Lillie and Harry Sanders; brother and sister-in-law, Thurman and Valerie Miller; grandchildren, Ben and Kasey Rosales, Jimmy and Tracy Miller and Carley and Hayden Miller; great grandchildren, Jensyn Soulas, Mikey Almengor, Hurley Rosales, Roxy Rosales and Jordynn Bustamante; special friends, Alan and Jeri Poznoff as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family spent many fun filled days boating and water skiing in the summer. In the cooler months, we all enjoyed riding our dirt bikes in the desert or hills above Taft. Mom and Dad enjoyed many road trips where Dad always made sure they took the road less traveled. They had a way of making breakfast, lunch or dinner a true adventure! Dad worked many years as a mechanic and retired from the Kern County Parks Dept. at the age of 50 so he could spend time with his grandchildren and have more time to ride his dirt bike. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
