Agents from federal fugitive task force get suspect after traffic stop

 Agents from a federal task force arrested a prison escapee from Washington in Taft Thursday.
State and federal agents from the Central Valley Joint Fugitive Task Force made a traffic stop on a truck on Supply Row just east of Tenth Street about 4:30 p.m.
The stop was made by agents in several unmarked vehicles. They were later joined by Kern County Sheriff's deputies in marked patrol cars.
The fugitive was identified by a U.S. Marshal on the scene as Michael Vandevoort, 30.
He had escaped from a community correctional facility in Washington,  the marshal said
Several people were taken out of the vehicle and placed in handcuffs.
All but the suspect were released a short time later.
