He says he won't be able to spend the time required to serve on the council

Greg Gray announced Wednesday that he is withdrawing from the Taft City Council race.
Gray was one of the first to file to run for one of three seats being contested in the Nov. 2 election.
In his brief announcement sent by email to the city and to local media, Gray, currently a member of the Taft Planning Commission, said “I do not feel I will be able to give the position the attention and time that it will require.”
In an interview, Gray said there were changes in both his personal and professional life that would not allow him to devote the time and effort to serve on the council.
gray's withdrawal leaves seven candidates still in the running.They are incumbents Randy Miller, Paul Linder and Cliff Thompson and challengers Gypsy Freeman, Dee Bankston, Orchel Krier and Ron Waldrop.
