Two men arrested and Taft Police find 5 grams of meth

Taft Police arrested two men featured in this week's Taft's Most Wanted on drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop Wednesday night.

Officers spotted a warrant suspect, in the vehicle and made an enforcement stop.

They found Mario Alarcon, 42, who is wanted on several warrants, and Kenneth Patton, 21.

Officer searched the car and discovered 5 grams of methamphetamine, according to a news release from the department.

The meth is valued at $500.

Officers also located $1,800 cash plus other evidence officers say indicates drug sales were being conducted.

Alarcon and Patton were arrested and booked into the Taft Jail on charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, transporting a controlled substance, and conspiracy.

Alarcon was also booked on three active bench warrants.

Patton was also wanted on a warrant.
