Competition will take place at Buena Vista Golf Course
Just weeks before a new high school year gets underway, one last piece of summer will be taking place with the 12th annual Moron Invitational being held Saturday, Aug. 9 at Buena Vista Golf Course.
There are several ways to qualify for the competition. One, it is open to all Taft High students past and present along with family and friends. One player must be connected to Taft High.
Second, long time residents with strong community ties and committee approval are eligible.
All players 65 years and older must play from the gold tees. It is also a mens' only tournament.
The day will start at 11 a.m. followed by a group picture at noon. The Cart girls long drive will take place at 12:15 with the tournament starting at 12:30 p.m. The Invitational will be a scramble format with a shot gun start.
A day earlier there will be a shoot around. The tee off for that starts at 8 a.m.
To take part in the Invitational, the cost is $85. The cost includes golf, a cart, dinner and prizes. The cost also includes a $5 donation to Taft High School. If interested in just attending the dinner at 0T’s, which starts at 7:30 p.m., the cost is $20. Hats are also available for $15.
