J.D. Hall allows only two hits
The Taft Yankees got their Tournament of Champions run off to a roaring start Saturday evening with a 5-2 victory over the Wasco Dodgers on Field No.1 in Taft.
Neither side was able to break through until the Yankees scored two runs in the top half of the third inning thanks to a wild pitch and an errant throw. The scored stood until the top of the sixth inning when Taft erupted for three runs highlighted by Mike White's two run triple.
J.D. Hall gave the Dodgers hitters trouble by throwing a no hitter through the first half of the game and allowing two hits all game including an inside the park two run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Taft returns to competition Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on Field No.1.
