Tip leads to search of house on Klipstein Street

Kern County Sheriff's deputies served a search warrant here Friday afternoon and recovered some of the saddles and tack items taken earlier this week.

Seven saddles and various tack items were recovered at a house on Klipstein Street just south of Highway 166.

Owner John Ashcraft was called to the scene and he identified the items as belonging to him.

Sheriff's Sgt. Marc Haiungs said deputies obtained the warrant after receiving a tip.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.

The saddles and tack equipment were taken from two buildings in a rural area east of Maricopa.

A total of 17 saddles, saddle stands, bridles and miscellaneous tack valued at $10,000 was stolen, Ashcraft said.
