National Weather Service says heavy rains falling in the area
A flash flood warning is in effect for the Cuyama Valley and now a flood advisory has been issued for the Southern San Joaquin Valley, including Taft and Maricopa, until 4:45 p.m.
This is in addition to a flash flood warning in the Cuyama Valley.
The National Weather Service reported radar indications of heavy rain from thunderstorms in the area and this is likely to cause small stream flooding.
In addition, a flash flood warning is in effect for the Cuyama Valley and surrounding mountains. This includes Highway 166 and Highway 33.
The California Highway Patrol was reporting flooding in the Lockwood Valley area with a creek overflowing and blocking Lockwood Valley Road.
