North scores all 41 of the points

Thursday evening's game was the last one the Taft freshmen football team would play at home for two weeks. It was also one they would rather forget about after the North Stars shut out the Wildcats 41-0 at home.

It didn't take long for the Stars to get going after Shannon Ferguson completed a 50-yard pass play and run on the second play of the opening series. Taft looked as if they would catch a break on the play but the flag was waived off.

North didn't waste anytime on their second series of the first quarter when Jeziah Toro ran 20-yards on the third play of the drive for the score. This time the two-point conversion was good and the Stars led 14-0.

While the Stars had an easy time getting into the endzone, the Wildcat offense had trouble getting going as they were unable to get past the 50-yard line on each of their two opening drives.

Scoring did trail off for North until late in the first quarter thanks to a three yard touchdown run with 2:42 to go.

The Stars added to their lead again early in the second quarter when Joseph Vandever ran five yards for a touchdown with 7:03 remaining.

North didn't add another touchdown until late in the fourth quarter when Vandever ran 28 yards for a touchdown.

The Stars final offensive touchdown didn't take place until the 5:06 mark of the fourth quarter thanks to a seven yard run from James Johnson. North put the points on the scoreboard on a safety.
