Central Valley Christian shut out in the first half

The Taft varsity girls basketball team kicked off the Farmersville Tournament with a bang Thursday evening with a 40-11 victory over Central Valley Christian.

Taft did all of the scoring in the first half, putting up 10 points in the first quarter and 12 in the second. Central Valley Christian finally broke through with five points in the third quarter but Taft countered with 10.

The Lady Wildcats put the final touches to their outburst in the fourth by edging out Central Valley Christian 8-6.

Angela Faa’gau led the team in scoring with 12.

Taft returned to action today and Saturday to complete the tournament.
