1938 - 2016

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 703 5th St., Taft, CA for Priscilla Ann (Lang) Magar, 78. Priscilla was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts on March 6, 1938 and passed away at her home in Taft, CA on July 31, 2016. Priscilla graduated from Kansas State University with a Master’s Degree in Education in 1961 and came to California that fall to teach 2nd grade at Cuyama Elementary School. A few years later, she began teaching Government and P.E. at Maricopa High School. Priscilla was a cradle Episcopalian and was active in many leadership roles. Her interest in the Church Periodical Club led her to leadership roles In Diocesan, Province and finally to be National President of the Church Periodical Club from 2000 - 2006. She was loved by many and students continued to visit with her long after she stopped teaching. Priscilla was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Lang, her mother, Priscilla Alberty, and her husband, Jack Magar. Thanks to Hospice and the many friends who helped her during her last illness.
