Kevin Larry charged with rape of a spouse by force fear or threat, forced oral copulation, false imprisonment
The Taft man arrested on rape charges Saturday night is being held on $100,000 bail and is due to appear in court on Aug. 29 for a pre-preliminary hearing.
Kevin James Larry is now charged with felony counts of rape of a spouse by force fear or threat, forced oral copulation, false imprisonment and misdemeanor counts of child endangerment, obstructing or delaying a police officer and spousal battery.
He is being held in the Kern County Sheriff's Lerdo pretrial facility
Larry, 24, was arrested by Kern County Sheriff's deputies after a foot chase and search in the Ford City area.
Deputies went to the the 600 block of Buchanan Street while investigating a reported kidnap and rape
When they arrived about 7:50 p.m., Larry ran out the back of the home and fled on foot, according to a KCSO news release.
He was caught several blocks from the residence.
A one-year-old child was inside the residence and not injured.
The child was left in care of a family friend.
