An estimated 450 people packed the Oildorado headquarters Friday for the traditonal kickoff to Oildorado. Political and oil industry leaders defended an oil industry under attack and criticized both the state and federal energy policies.

There were lighter moments, as well. Congressman Kevin McCarthy was "arrested" by the Sheriff's Posse after being detained on stage by both the posse and the Wooden Nickel Gang. McCarthy an Oildorado President Shannon Miller both ended up in the hoosegow.
