The Rotary of Club of China Lake will host CSU Bakersfield Small Business Development Center's own Jay Thompson at its July 19 meeting at the Clarion Inn, 901 N. China Lake Boulevard.

Thompson is the lead business consultant at the CSU Bakersfield Small Business Development Center. Over the past four years Thompson’s SBDC clients have created over 300 jobs and reported over $28 million in capital infusion. Thompson has over 30 years of experience in business management and specializes in business creation, partnership building, product management, legal structure and maximizing profitability.

SBDC counselors can offer individual advice and guidance concerning the formation, management, financing and operation of your business. Counseling is provided at no charge to qualified businesses (the business must have less than 500 employees). Individuals who are considering starting a business are also eligible for counseling.

SBDC counselors have significant experience in the private sector, and many have extensive management and financial consulting backgrounds like Thompson.

Small Business owners may gain the knowledge needed to make their businesses excel by attending the many training classes held throughout Central California. Classes are offered in specialized subjects and management basics for new business ventures.

The Rotary Club meets at noon. If you would like to attend the Rotary Luncheon to hear Jay speak, please call Mary Lundstrom at 760-382-1991.
