Unidentified victim suffered major head trauma, CHP says
An unidentified pedestrian suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a vehicle on Highway 43 between Panama lane and the Interstate 5 over crossing Saturday night.
Few details are available about the accident.
The victim's identity has yet to be released
It was reported at 6:25 p.m. and the victim suffered major head trauma, California Highway patrol officer Adam Taylor said.
The victim was apparently walking southbound in the roadway when he was struck by a southbound 2003 Ford Focus driven by Justin Tyrrell, 27 of Azusa, Taylor said. The victim was flown from the scene to Kern Medical for treatment.
Highway 43 was closed to traffic for more than an hour.
