Melissa Arrondo knew exactly what she wanted to do when it came time to declare her Senior project as a student at Live Oak High School. Having witnessed bike parties in Sacramento, she knew it took a specific route, food, a raffle and plenty of bicycles. Seven new bicycles were donated by clubs participating and helmets were donated by the Gridley Area Chamber of Commerce. Bikes of every color started arriving at 4 p.m., from as far away as Sacramento and at 6 p.m., a caravan of over 100 bicycles joined Arrondo in a bike trip that started out at the high school, to the skate park, bike trail, KB Homes Park and the Soccer Park with the help of the Sutter County Sheriff's Department crossing the highway. Those helping out included the Live Oak Lions Club, Live Oak Church of the Brethren, Live Oak Child Center, E Center and Karsyn's who served hot dogs.
