Farm truck pulled into his path, CHP says

A motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon on Highway 166 east of Maricopa when he collided with a farm truck, the California Highway Patrol reported

The crash was reported at 2:10 p.m. on Highway 166 about five miles east of Basic School Road.
CHP officer Adam Taylor said the victim was westbound on the highway when the Chevrolet Silverado pulled across the highway as the driver was going from fields on the south side of the road to the north side.
The 2016 Honda motorcycle struck the truck and the rider, a 33-year-old man from Oakland, was pronounced dead at the scene, Taylor said.

His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

There was no immediate word of injury to the driver of the pickup.
