RCIU also investigating theft of solar panels
Copper wire thieves hit several locations in the Taft area in recent days, and suspects also stole solar panels and other equipment in the Lost Hills area.
Here is the latest report from the Kern County Sheriff's Rural Crimes Investigations Unit.
•On June 27 between 2:30 a.m. and 1:20 p.m., unknown suspects vandalized a power pole and an electrical box while attempting to strip copper wire on an oil lease in the Taft area, causing over $4,000 in damages. •On June 30 between 10 a.m. at 1:40 p.m. hours, someone stole various hand tools.
•80-watt solar panels, two 12-volt 92AH batteries, and two hand held pressure gauges with cases from an oil lease located in the 15000 block of Lost Hills Road. If anyone has any information about this investigation, contact Brunsell Refer to case #2018-05000445.
•Sometime between June 28 at 3 p.m. and June 30 at 3 p.m., suspects cut multiple lines of copper wiring, each approximately 20 feet in length from several water wells located in a field near Millux Road and Hill Road. •Between June 30 at 8 a.m. and and July 4 at 3 p.m, someone stole three rolls of 30-foot copper wiring from a water pump in a field located off South Lake Road and Hill Road. Contact Downs with any information about this investigation. Refer to case #2018-00104866
