Top three will be elected in November
Its going to be a very crowded field for the three seats up for grabs on the Taft City Council in the November 6 election
Nine candidates have have qualified for the ballot, with the last two candidates getting their signatures verified by the Kern County Clerk's Office today, the last day to get on the ballot.
The filing deadline was extended until 5 p.m. Wednesday when incumbent Randy Miller announced a week ago that he would not seek a fifth term on the council after serving for 16 years.
The candidates are, in order of when they qualified:
Braun and Long both turned in their signatures today.
Bryant and Hill are both incumbents seeking their second terms on the ballot.
