The Community Light Opera and Theatre Association (CLOTA) will be performing a “Reader’s Theatre” fundraiser show over two weekends in February.
The play will be “Love Letters,” written by A. R. Gurney, and directed by Loralynn Chrostowski in her debut as a director.
The play centers on two people, Andy and Melissa, who write letters to each other over the course of about 50 years. In their letters, they write about their hopes and dreams, trials and tribulations. It’s a heartwarming play with a few surprises, sure to invoke a wide range of emotions from the audience. The play however, may be unsuitable for young children due to language and some adult themes.
The play will run at the CLOTA Center Stage, 1425 N. Inyo St. on three evenings, Feb. 15, 22, and 23 at 7:30 p.m., and one matinée, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtimes. There are two couples performing, Josh and Jennifer Cotterell on the 15th and 23rd, and John and Loralynn Chrostowski on the 16th and 22nd.
Tickets are $10 each for all patrons, available at the door. The funds raised for this show are to help bring CLOTA further into the 21st century by purchasing a laptop and Wi-Fi. These items help to bring its operating costs down while enhancing performances and audience experience.
