Coffeehouse with drive-through will be located in former restaurant in east end of Albertsons Shopping Center
Taft is going to soon have it’s own full-service Starbucks.
City of Taft officials confirmed to the Taft Midway Driller Wednesday afternoon that the national coffee chain is working with the Taft Planning Department.
Developers are going to submit a site plan for improvements to convert a building on the east end of the Albertsons into the latest in about 30,000 locations worldwide.
There is no estimated time on when the new coffeehouse will open.
The building has been a restaurant for many years under various names and includes a drive-through lane and window.
Taft residents have been able to buy Starbucks beverages at the nearby Albertsons for the past several years but the new full-service location will most likely include a drive-though.
The future of the Albertsons Starbucks kiosk is uncertain.
Store officials had not heard about the plans for Starbucks and had no comment.
