Man and woman face multiple charges

A man and woman were arrested in Fellows in connection with a burglary at Midway school last week.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office reported the incident started when deputies were dispatched to a report of a possible burglary in progress at the school early April 12.

The school was not open at the time and no students were present, the Sheriff said.

As the deputies arrived, they saw three people near the school who fled when they saw the deputies.

Further investigation led deputies to a nearby home where they recovered some items stolen from the school and other items, including stripped copper wire and vehicle keys in various stages of damage and shaving.

Deputies then arrested the man and woman on numerous charges.

William Jones, 40, was booked for outstanding warrants, burglary, vandalism, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of metals belonging to transportation or utilities, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Janette Starks, 23, was arrested for burglary, vandalism, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of metals belonging to transportation or utilities and accessory.
