Free app is better way to alert, inform and prepare the public
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office announced the launch of The Sheriff’s App. The application is now available for download in the App store for iPhones and Google Play for Androids. Just search, “Kern County Sheriff.”
The purpose and goal of The Kern County Sheriff’s App is to make information readily available for the public at the touch of a finger. It shows the latest news releases, all of our social media channels, gives you an easy place to find all pertinent phone numbers, and has an emphasis on safety.
You can check the crime mapping in your neighborhood, see the “most wanted” in Kern County, and find links to features you may need like Join KCSO. There is a section that highlights inmate visitation, accounts and other information.
We are pleased to provide this easy-to-use, free service to the public; all part of our continuing mission:
“The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is committed to work in partnership with our community to enhance the safety, security and quality of life for the residents and visitors of Kern County through professional public safety services.”
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office mobile app was developed by TheSheriffApp.com, a division of OCV, LLC. TheSheriffApp.com specializes in mobile app development for sheriffs’ offices and public safety agencies across the country. Developing over 500 total apps, OCV designs and creates custom apps for state, county and local government agencies. “Nearly 80 percent of people in the United States own and use smartphones as their primary means of communication,” OCV Vice President Kevin Cummings said. “Mobile apps offer agencies a better way to alert, inform and prepare the public. Apps allow public safety agencies the ability to reach and serve their citizens where they are: their smartphones.”
