Sheriff's RCIU investigating two thefts on Westside

 The Kern County Sheriff's Rural Crimes Investigations Unit is investigating the theft of tools from the Maricopa area and a water tanker truck in the McKittrick area.

Sometime between midnight on April 18 and 7:35 a.m. on  April 22, unknown suspects forced their way into an oil lease storage yard located off Hwy 166 in Maricopa and stole numerous pieces of oilfield equipment and tools. On April 25, detectives received a report of a stolen white 1984 International 466e water truck with a 2,000-gallon tank from an oil lease located near Highway 33 in the McKittrick area.

The reporting party stated they believed the truck was at another location on another oil lease and it was last seen about 8 a.m. on April 1 however, they could not locate the vehicle and wished to report it as stolen. The truck is described as bearing California license 7T20112 and VIN #1HSLRUGN4EHA26180.
