Tank McMillin and wife face felony charge in North Dakota
A former Taft man and his wife have been arrested in connection with the death of their one month old child in North Dakota last month.
Tank McMillan, 27, a 2010 Taft Union High School graduate, and Hannah McMillin, 18, are both charged with one count of felony child abuse, according to numerous media reports.
The case is still under investigation and more charges could be filed, according to police and the The Williams County State's Attorney's Office.
They were arrested by police in Williston, N.D. and are being held on $1 million bail each.
According to media reports, medical aid was summoned to the Four Points by Sheraton in Williston about 11:30 a.m on April 26 for a report of a child not breathing.
The baby, who was born on March 20, according to reports, was rushed to CHI St. Alexius Health but was pronounced dead a short time later.
An affidavit filed in connection with the case said the baby boy suffered bruises to his abdomen, back, sides, upper buttocks and feet.
Media reports quoting court documents said Tank McMillin told investigators that "he would put blankets or pillows over the infant's face when the child was fussy."
Hannah McMillin also said she put pillows or a blanket on the child's face.
Bond has been set at $1 million for both suspects.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled to May 29.
