Suspect had 10.4 grams of meth in parking lot, police say
A welfare check on a man in a car parked at the West Side Recreation and Park District led to a drug trafficking arrest on May 4.
Taft Police officers were asked by Rec employees to check on the man shortly after 8 p.m., Lt. Pete Aranda said.
When they made contact with the suspect, identified as Richard Price, 64, of Taft.
Aranda said officers contacted Price and, after a discussion, found about 10.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine in the car.
Aranda said Price told officers he had even more, but "shared it with others.”
Price was arrested and booked into the Taft Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.
