Detectives investigate two thefts near Highway 166

Two agricultural thefts east of Maricopa are being investigated by the Kern County Sheriff's Rural Crimes Investigations Unit.
Four catalytic converters were removed from wind machines located in an orchard off Highway 166.
The theft occurred sometime between 2 p.m. on May 19 and 1 p.m. on May 24.

On May 24 at 3:39 p.m., it was reported to detectives that at an unknown time and date unknown someone cut copper wire from an irrigation pump and electrical panel in an orchard located near Old River Road and Highway 166, causing over $5,000 in damages.
