Seven acres burn on Chimineas Ranch
Santa Barbara County, Cal Fire and and United States Forest Service firefighters teamed up to control a small brush fire along Highway 166 west of New Cuyama on Wednesday.
The fire was on Chimineas Ranch abut 30 miles east of Santa Maria, and it burned just 5 to 7 acres, according to the Saqnta Baqrbara County Fire Department.
It may have been sparked by a chain or other item being dragged by a passing truck, according to the California Highway Patrol website .
It burned on the north side of the highway and didn't interfere with traffic.
