Okie Dinner will have fried catfish.Oktoberfest, plus steak dinner coming, too
There have been several changes to the lineup of events and the dates of continuing events at the Historic Fort for the rest of 2019.
One event has been cancelled, but new events have been added.
A traditional favorite, Bubba's Okie Dinner, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19. there is a new item on the menu this year -- fried catfish. That's on top of the traditional fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes, fried okra and corn on the cob, catered by the Fort Preservation Society Board and Jo's Restaurant.
Country George and Western Edition will be the featured entertainment.
Two new events are coming up later in the fall.
Oktoberfest is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17. A social hour will start at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. it will be catered by the Fort Preservation Society board. The evening features German food, including bratwurst, and beer.
On Nov. 17 a "Support Your Fort" Steak Night, again served courtesy of the Fort Board, will feature large barbecued steaks.
The annual Fort Christmas Gift Show and Dinner in December has been cancelled.
