They will be honored at Cougar Cookout on Oct. 24
Taft College and The Taft College Foundation announced Bob and Judy Hampton are the recipients of the 2019 Community Spirit Award.
Bob and Judy will be recognized at the 10th Annual Taft College Foundation Alumni and Friends Cougar Cookout on Thursday, Oct. 24. The event will feature a special video capturing the enduring community spirit of Bob and Judy Hampton. Bob and Judy have been community champions of Taft and inspired generations of residents on the Westside through their wholehearted commitment to Taft College, The Taft College Foundation, and the City of Taft.
Bob and Judy are the newest additions to the list of outstanding community members who have received the Spirit Award.
Others include John and Betty Miller (2014), Harry Wilson (2015), Dr. David Cothrun (2016), Ray and Lodema Hatch (2017), and Don and Linda Zumbro (2018).
A barbecue will proceed the honors for the Hamptons.
San Joaquin Bit will be grilling up the meats and Diamond X is providing their famous smoked mac'n cheese along with other fine sides.
The Fellows American Legion Post will be running the adult beverage service and Alumni Beer Garden this year.
