Four more cases reported Thursday afternoon. Some have been hospitalized

Kern County's coronavirus case count rose to 32 by Thursday afternoon, and the Taft Midway Driller has learned that some of the patients have been hospitalized.

The Kern County Department of Public Health Services' website showed total of 32 cases by Thursday afternoon. There is alos one case in an out-of-county resident.

Four new cases were announced Thursday afternoon, and three of them live in the Valley region of the county, a broad area of the western one-third that includes Taft, Shafter, Wasco and Delano. 

A Bakersfield medical provider told the Taft Midway Driller that there were patients already hospitalized in Bakersfield with the coronavirus.

Most of the cases confirmed so far are in the Bakersfield area, but there are now six cases in the Valley. There is one in the desert.
