Now 47 total cases in Kern County
Kern County had 47 coronavirus cases by Saturday morning, according to the latest figures from the Kern County Department of Public Health Services.
That is an increase of six from Friday night and 12 from Thursday and includes a nonresident who tested positive last week.
Seven of the cases are from the valley region, which covers most of western Kern County outside of metro Bakersfield and includes an area from Taft and Maricopa to Shafter, Wasco and Delano.
Western Bakersfield continues to lead the county with 28 cases and there are eight in eastern Bakersfield.
Three cases have been reported in the desert.
Kern County has one coronavirus death so far, a Delano woman who died at Delano Regional Medical Center.
By Saturday morning, the county was reporting 1,915 total COVID-29 tests with 932 negative results and 936 tests still pending.
