A motor home caught fire and burned just north of Taft on Monday.
Kern County firefighters said the 36-foot vehicle was northbound on North Lincoln about halfway between Pierce Street and Midway Road when it burst into flames.

The driver, who was the only occupant, was able to  pull the motor home to the side of the road and escape from the vehicle before it nearly completely burned. He was not injured.
The fire was reported at 1 pm.
Firefighters had the fire knocked down in a few minutes.

North Lincoln Street was blocked for about 20 minutes before it was reopened.
