Only one new cases in western Kern County
Kern County reported 16 new COVID-19 cases but none of the new cases are in western Kern County.
The count for the valley region, which includes Taft, remains at 56.
The Health Department said Tuesday morning there are now 470 people with confirmed coronavirus cases in the county, including 462 county residents and eight nonresidents.
Testing continues to increase.
By 9:30 a.m., 7,069 tests have been administered.
In addition to the 470 positive tests, there are 3,884 negative tests and results are still pending for 2,715 tests.
So far, the Health Department said, coronavirus has been diagnosed in 21 children 17, 262 people aged 18-19, 130 people aged 50-64 and 49 in people 65 and older.
Three deaths in Kern County have been attributed to coronavirus.
