Kern now has 837 total cases reported
Another Kern County resident has died from COVID-19 complications, the Kern County Health Department reported Monday.
No details about the death were reported.
The Health Department reported 19 new positive tests in county resident, bringing the total number of cases to 837, including nine nonresidents.
There are now 30 patient hospitalized with the disease and 365 people in isolation at home.
The Health Department said 428 patients have recovered.
Two new cases were reported in the valley region, bringing the total in western Kern County to 100.
The metro Bakersfield area, including Lamont and Arvin, has 690 cases, 20 cases have been reported in the mountains and 18 in the deserts.
There are 62 COVID-19 cases in children 17 and under, 490 in people aged 18-49, 196 in people between 50 and 64 and 80 in people 65 and over.
In addition to the 828 positive tests in county residents, 6,030 people have tested negative and 3,593 tests are still pending.
