No new cases in Taft area, which remains with 18
Kern County reported two more deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic and and additional 30 positive COVID-19 tests among Kern County residents Tuesday morning.
Seventeen people have now died, at least nine of them residents of a Bakersfield skilled nursing, according to the Kern County Health Department. The Kingston Health Care Facility is the scene of the county's largest coronavirus outbreak with more than 100 residents and staff with COVID-19.
Countywide, 1,326 people have contracted the disease, the health department said.
All but 10 of the cases are in Kern residents.
However, the number of people who have recovered rose to 803, in increase of 44 over Monday.
No new infections were reported on the Westside. There are 18 positive tests in the Taft area with nine active cases and nine recoveries.
There is one active case in Maricopa.
Countywide, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 dropped to 37 from 39 on Tuesday. There are 456 people with COVID-19 recovering at home.
