Taft's every-five-year celebration may have some adjustments

Taft Oildorado is continuing to plan for their upcoming celebration, slated for this fall from October 9-18.
“The Executive Board is dedicated to working with our volunteers and community to carry on the Oildorado tradition, even if that means that we have to make some adjustments,” President Shannon Miller said.
Oildorado is a 10-day celebration of the City of Taft, dedicated to honoring the oil industry.  Traditional events such as the Whiskerino Beard and Tessie Garratt Bun contests, Maids of Petroleum, Grand Parade, Melodrama and the Headquarters & Store are all on the docket, as well as other events and activities.
Dry RV camping reservations are also currently being accepted.
In March, in was announced that Aera Energy had committed to a Gold Sponsorship in the amount of $25,000.  Other committed sponsors Chevron, Westside Waste Management, TRC Operating Company, and Huddleston Crane.
