Kern County has 116 new cases, 2,660 total
COVID-19 cases in Kern County jumped by 116 Saturday, and a slight uptick in cases in western kern County was reported by the Kern County Health Department Saturday.
There are now 2,660 cases in Kern County, but 1,809 people have recovered from the virus
One new case was reported in Taft, bringing the total to 25 with 15 recovered.
A new case was reported in the Tupman area and there are one active case each in the Fellows and Maricopa areas.
Three cases have been reported in the Buttonwillow area.
No new deaths were reported and the Kern death toll stands at 45. The health department said 45 people are hospitalized with the virus and 714 people with less severe infections are isolating at home
At least half of the deaths have been residents of Bakersfield skilled nursing facilities, county officials have said.
