One suspect has been linked to attempted murder case in Santa Maria

 Two Santa Maria men were arrested in Maricopa and charged with attempting to kidnap a woman and one of the suspects is wanted in connection with an attempted murder, the Kern County Sheriff reported.

The suspects were arrested after Taft substation deputies were dispatched to a reported weapons violation in Maricopa on Sunday

as they investigated, they determined the two suspects tried to kidnap a truck driver at knifepoint.

They demanded she drive them to Bakersfield, but she got in her truck and escaped, the KCSDO said.

She called and reprted the incident.

Deputies located and subsequently arrested both men, later identified as Moses Abeytia, 20, and Felciano Ramirez 21

Deputies said Abeytia at first refused to give them his name and Ramirez gave them a false name.

Both men were arrested for the attempted kidnapping and several misdemeanor weapons charges.

They were booked into jail.
Tis morning, the Sheriff received information at Abeytia had an active warrant for his arrest for attempted murder for a case under investigation by the Santa Maria Police Department.
