More than 300 are still active, health department says
Taft now has 400 confirmed COVID-19 cases and more than 300 are still active, the Kern County Health Department reported Monday.
Nine new cases in the Taft area were reported Monday. The 93268 zip code has 315 active cases and 85 recoveries, the health department said.
No new cases were reported in the rest of the area. Maricopa still has 17 total cases and four recoveries, the Fellows-Derby Acres area has two cases and one recovery and there is one active case in the Tupman area. No cases have bee reported to date in the McKittrick area
The health department also reported 218 new cases in the county, raising the total to 26,798 total cases.
To date, 204 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.
In the entire county, there have been 8,432 recoveries to date. Another 17,904 people are isolating at home, the county said.
There are 248 people hospitalized.
