Man arrested, 750 plants seized
Kern County Sheriff's deputies from the Taft substation seized 750 marijuana plants at an illegal growing operation and arrested a man in Dustin Acres lat week.
The deputies were patrolling in the area of the 28000 block of Mustang Avenue (off Evans Ranch Road) on Aug. 25 after receiving a tip from a citizen about a possible marijuana grow.
While in the area, they stopped a car driven by Javier Osornio-Gallegos, 28.
During the investigation, deputies determined Osornio-Gallegos owned the property in question, and was taking care of numerous marijuana plants behind a six to seven-foot-tall plywood fence, the KCSO said in a news release.
A search warrant was obtained for the property and deputies located and seized more than 750 marijuana plants.
Osornio-Gallegos was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana and traffic infractions, the KCSO said.
