Victim accosted, forced to drive away by suspect
A Lost Hills man has been charged with kidnapping and robbing a woman.
The Kern County Sheriff's Office said the the victim reported she was kidnapped by a male suspect armed with a handgun as she entered her vehicle in the 21000 block of Badger Street in Lost Hills about 8 a.m. Tuesday.
The victim said the male suspect forced the victim to drive away from the location for several minutes before stealing cash and fleeing on foot. The victim was uninjured.
After an investigation, deputies obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 21000 block of Badger Street.
At about 5:30 p.m., deputies assigned to the Buttonwillow and Delano Substations executed the search warrant. As deputies approached the residence, Ariel Pacheco,25, was contacted and discarded a replica firearm before being taken into custody. A search of the residence produced additional evidence of the crime and Pacheco was arrested and booked into the Central Receiving Facility on charges of kidnapping, extortion, robbery, assault with a firearm, false imprisonment, and criminal threats.
His bail is set at $225,000.
