Mary passed peacefully at her home with family by her side on April 2, 2018 from complications from a stroke suffered on Christmas Day. She was born June 29, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA. Her family moved to Ridgecrest in 1944 when she was age 12 where she remained until her recent move to Bakersfield.

She was a 1949 graduate of Burroughs High School where she met her first husband and father of her three children. Her first job was at age 14 as a cashier for the Ridgecrest Theater. Her career included working as a Clerk for the Navy Exchange, Deputy City Clerk for the City of Ridgecrest, Registrar for the Cerro Coso College, and Bookkeeper for 14 years for the Maturango Museum. But her primary life occupation was artist. She loved painting and sculpting in various mediums and had several showings at the LC Clark Gallery and Maturango Museum. She also enjoyed photography, preparing and trying different cuisines, travel, and had a special appreciation for the Eastern Sierra.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Helen Kelley, her first husband, Ronald Gonder, second husband, Joseph Adler, and her son-in-law, Miles Wagner.

She is survived by her three children, Kenneth Gonder (Meg), Kim Martin (Ken), and Katrina Wagner, her grandchildren, Jordan Martin (Joy) and Sarah Turner (Justin), and four great grandchildren.

The family will be holding private celebrations of her rich and full life.
