January 30, 1945 - September 24, 2018


Donald Decker Peterson (Pete), 73, passed away at Sharpe Memorial Hospital in San Diego, CA on September 24, 2018 after sustaining injuries due to a motorcycle accident.
Pete was born January 30, 1945 to Maisie Kay Browning and James H Peterson in Los Angeles. Pete grew up in Los Angeles area. Pete married Tonia Janeen Myers on December 29, 1977 in Bakersfield, CA.
He worked at Studios in Hollywood, a job he loved; Oilfields in Taft, and truck driving before retiring to take care of his wife, Tonia Peterson after her auto accident in 2006. Some of his favorite things to do were: camping and riding the dunes at Pismo Beach, flying his ultralight plane, and anything to do with vehicles.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Mandy Peterson (8) in 1986, his wife, Tonia Peterson, a day prior to him; his mother, Maisie Kay Browning.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna McCannon and her husband, TJ of AZ, granddaughter, Kaylene McCannon and grandson, Nickolas McCannon. He also has a daughter, Terri Jorgensen and husband, Jay from UT, and son, Bryan Murch and his wife, Debbie from CA. He has numerous grandchildren.
There will be an informal memorial at West Side District Cemetery, 440 E Cedar Street at Mandy’s crypt on Chapel Drive, on October 20, 2018 at 11:00-12:00 for anyone who wants to share special moments about Toni or Pete.
We will proceed to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 101 Church Street for a memorial at 12:30 pm for a light luncheon.
