After a hard battle, Gary “Buck” Jeffress, born February 22, 1940 passed away March 12, 2019. Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Edith Jeffress and his beloved bulldogs, Lugnut and Shortblock. Buck is survived by his twin sister, Toodie Brendle and her husband Henry, daughter Stacy Mounce and her husband, Tom their 2 children Adam Mounce and his wife Bylinda, Sawyer Mounce, Steve Fields and his wife Gail and Larry Fields. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Keaghan and Wyatt Mounce who he greatly enjoyed and numerous close friends. Buck spent his life working with engines. If you had an issue with an engine, Buck could fix it. If you wanted to go faster, Buck could get you there. If you wanted a race car, boat, sand drag, even a grocery getter that could still smoke the tires, Buck was the man for the job. Buck spent hours in his garage shooting the bull with his friends and creating things that went VROOM. The faster it went, the happier he was. He loved to watch races, all races, and nothing made him happier than enjoying the camaraderie of friends. Well, maybe, arguing with his friends, that made him happy too. If you would like to share stories or visit family, we are having a Celebration of Life at Buck’s Garage 511 Taylor St. Taft, on Saturday March 30, 2019 at 2:00 O’clock in the afternoon.
