October 10, 1931 – March 22, 2019

Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM for former Taft native, Gifford Harry Skinner, 87. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taft Ward will conduct the services. Mr. Skinner was born in Taft on October 10, 1931 and passed away on March 22, 2019 under the care of VA Hospice in Prescott, AZ. During the Korean War Mr. Skinner proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army as a Corporal from 1952 – 1954. Mr. Skinner was a proud member of the Taft American Legion Post #63. Mr. Skinner worked at Shell Oil – Kernridge for 34 years and retired in 1992. Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lyn Skinner in 2016; his parents, Harry D. and Eva Lena Skinner; brother, Leland Skinner and his sister, Mary Evelyn Keeler. He is survived by his one daughter, Judy and her husband, Gordon Karrer of Prescott Valley, AZ; two sons, Jay and his wife, Shawnia Patno of Lovington, NM and Douglas Patno of Prescott, AZ; his numerous nieces and nephews, David and Karen Keeler, Dusty and Danette Keeler of Bakersfield and Doug Keeler of Taft; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
